Yes, the Yusupov books are certaily good for highly motivated people. To make sure that this new knowledge sticks, it is then tested by a selection of puzzles. Now I can and chesd use the concept, though certainly not as successfully as say a level player with a better grasp of positional play.
Yusuupov titled players who teach chess have difficulties in grasping how difficult it is for adult players to improve.
